ORGANIZE A FUNDRAISING CONCERT IN 2008 - One thing we can easily do is put on a great concert. Let's all organize across the country to put on a charity concert in 2008 in all of your own hometown communities. Whether it is your marching band, your jazz band, concert band, orchestra, winter ensembles or just a trio of motivated students, you can make it happen. Be creative...maybe a picnic concert in the park or a concert in front of the school. Here is a simple donation form that you can go door to door and collect donations for your concert event. DONATION FORM It is also a great opportunity to have a bake sale at your event to raise additional money. Utilize your band booster organizations to help organize your events. Remember that the money you raise can be utilized for your own band program or donate it to a School in Need. Also remember to let us know that you are planning to participate, so that we can publicize and follow your efforts whether they are on a small or large scale. We might just include you in our film. INFORM THE MEDIA - Now that you have an event organized, you need to let the local media know about it. This would include the local newspapers, television stations, radio stations as well as the mayor of your town. We have included a Press Release which you simply print, fill out, copy and deliver to each of these offices. Hand deliver each of these including one to the Mayor. Also look in your phone book for the listing "Associated Press" for your area and call and fax them one as well.
